Creator FAQ And Resources
Practical answers for creators using OnlyFollowers, including PDF uploads, going live, payouts, and the setup steps that matter most.
Quick Checklist
Use this if you want the shortest path to being creator-ready.
Getting Started
The first things every creator should finish before publishing content.
What do I need before I can upload content or go live?
You need creator access on your account. Uploads and live streaming are creator-only features, so make sure your account is set up as a creator first.
Do I need Stripe before I can get paid?
Yes. Complete Stripe Connect onboarding so you can receive payouts and unlock paid creator features smoothly. You can manage this from your creator onboarding and payout settings.
What should I set up on my profile first?
Add a profile photo, banner image, and bio. Those are part of the creator onboarding flow and help followers trust your page before they subscribe.
Uploading PDFs
Requirements and best practices for PDF uploads.
What does a PDF need before I can upload it?
Your PDF upload needs a title, a category, your denomination/religion selected, and an actual PDF file. If any of those are missing, the upload will not submit.
What file type and size are supported for PDFs?
Only `.pdf` files are accepted, and the current upload limit is 50MB per PDF.
Can I add a cover image to a PDF?
Yes. A custom cover image is optional, but recommended because it helps the PDF stand out better in the feed and on your profile.
Where do I upload a PDF?
Go to `Upload Content`, switch to the `PDF` tab, then add the file, title, category, denomination, and any optional cover image before publishing.
Going Live
What creators should know before starting a stream.
What internet speed should I have before going live?
Use a stable connection with at least 10 Mbps upload speed if possible. The live recorder is configured around a 2.5 Mbps video bitrate, so extra upload headroom helps avoid quality drops, lag, and disconnects.
What device permissions do I need?
Your browser must have camera and microphone access. If you see device errors, check browser permissions first and make sure another app is not already using your camera or mic.
What browser setup works best for live streaming?
Use a current version of Chrome or Safari, test your camera and microphone before starting, and avoid running heavy background apps that can compete for CPU, camera, microphone, or bandwidth.
Can I upload my live recording after the stream ends?
Yes. If your stream was recorded, the app can prompt you to upload that recording as a video after the live session ends.
Video And Creator Tips
Common creator questions that come up after setup.
What video formats work best on the platform?
For videos, use common web-friendly formats such as MP4 with H.264 when possible. The upload flow also references WebM and AV1-compatible formats for best compatibility.
What if upload or live features are locked for me?
Check that you still have creator access, that your creator billing or required plan is active if applicable, and that Stripe onboarding is complete if you are trying to use monetized creator features.
What are the quickest ways to look more professional as a creator?
Complete your onboarding checklist, upload a welcome video, keep your profile and banner current, and balance free content with premium content so new followers can sample your work before subscribing.
